Before you get started...
- Prior to creating an LTI connection, you must have an IntelliBoard subscription. Sign up for IntelliBoard here, or work with your Blackboard Learn partner.
- Prior to creating an LTI connection, you must create a successful connection between your IntelliBoard subscription and your Blackboard Learn system. Additional information on the connection can be found here.
Note: The BBLearn email and the IntelliBoard subscription emails must match for the LTI integration.
Steps to Create LTI
1) Ensure Blackboard Learn and IntelliBoard Connection
- From your IntelliBoard account, ensure you have a successful connection with your Blackboard Learn system. Additional details about creating the connection can be found here.
- From IntelliBoard, click Settings + Options, then Servers. Choose the Server you wish to edit by clicking on the Name of the server or the edit sprocket.
- Similar to the image below, a successful connection will be demonstrated when Connection Status has a green smiley face; as well as green checks by the URL and token.
- Return to your Blackboard Learn LMS.
2) Create LTI Connection inside Blackboard Learn
- Log on as a Blackboard Learn Administrator
- From the your main page, click Admin and then LTI Tool Providers. From LTI Tool Providers, click Register Provider Domain.
- From Register Provider Domain, complete the following details:
Provider Domain: Enter lti.intelliboard.net
NOTE: for Chinese clients Provider Domain should be listed as lms.intelliboard.cn
Provider Domain Status: Select Approved
Secondary Hostnames: Leave blank
Default Configuration: Select Set Globally
*Tool Provider Key:
Return to IntelliBoard > Settings + Options > Servers > Edit Server
Copy and Paste Consumer Key
*Tool Provider Secret:
Return to IntelliBoard > Settings + Options > Servers > Edit Server
Copy and Paste Consumer Secret

Send User Data: Select Send user data only over SSL
User Fields to Send: Select Role in Course, Name and Email Address
Allow Membership Service Access: Yes
Click Submit
Return to IntelliBoard > Settings + Options > Servers > Edit Server > Find Consumer Key and Consumer Secret
Tool Provider Key (Consumer Key) & Tool Provider Secret (Consumer Secret)
- Return to Blackboard Learn, and click Admin. From Admin, click LTI Tool Providers. Search for the newly created IntelliBoard Provider (blue oval). Click the Number in the Placement Column (yellow box).
- From the Placement, complete the following details:
Label: IntelliBoard
Handle: intelliboard (or any text of your choice)
Type: System tool
Icon: upload an icon of your choice
Tool Provider URL:
Return to IntelliBoard > Settings + Options > Servers > Edit Server
Copy and Past URL
*Tool Provider Key:
Return to IntelliBoard > Settings + Options > Servers > Edit Server
Copy and Paste Consumer Key
*Tool Provider Secret:
Return to IntelliBoard > Settings + Options > Servers > Edit Server
Copy and Paste Consumer Secret
Click Submit

Return to IntelliBoard > Settings + Options > Servers > Edit Server > Find URL, Consumer Key and Consumer Secret

- After clicking Submit under Placements, click Close Administrator Panel.
- To see completed LTI, click Tools and then IntelliBoard.

FAQs
Why "App Restart Application" error appears when you try to load the IntelliBoard via LTI in Google Chrome?
Google Chrome has a specific setting Block third-party cookies that impacts on the LTI displaying. You'll need to go to browser settings, switch this off, and clear your browser cache to bring the LTI back.
