Updates - Canvas LMS

To best meet clients needs and feedback, our plugin is updated consistently!  For the best experience, your IntelliBoard block will need to be maintained.  A running stream of updates can be found below.

You'll use the Developer Keys to connect to Canvas; no additional download required!

What you need to know about Canvas Data access through IntelliBoard

In order for the processing of reports and analytics to visualize at an acceptable speed, IntelliBoard integrates with Canvas Data and duplicates selected data points to IntelliBoard servers under Client account authentication. No other clients can access that data set, and each data set is located in a specific location assigned to that specific client, similar to how Canvas and other entities segregate server data with the highest security possible. No direct access to data exists, other than through the IntelliBoard application itself.

Recently, IntelliBoard introduced filters for Canvas for the purpose of limiting the size of the data copied to IntelliBoard storage. If clients choose to view data for 1 year only, then the dataset is copied for that year only.

IntelliBoard uses API access and processes Canvas Data, authenticated by Canvas. Only Canvas Partners have access to the Canvas API and Canvas Data processing. IntelliBoard is a Canvas partner.

IntelliBoard is certified by Privacy Shield, (https://www.privacyshield.gov/program-overview), which monitors our actions to GDPR standards. IntelliBoard was approved in December, 2018, and will undergo the required annual review henceforth.

When we store data (Canvas) it is stored in IntelliBoard’s iHub which is on Amazon Web Services.

WHAT'S NEW FROM 10/7/2019

  • SubAccounts got tooltips for the far right column. You can see them by hovering over that buttons.
  • Now you can reset your report settings by clicking Personalize Report > Reset!
  • Introducing a new Course Filter OptionSingle or Multiple - it's up to you! From the report go to Personalize Report > Edit and select Single or Multiple courses under Course Filter Option. Note that accounts with more than 20,000 total users will default to single course, but this may be changed.
  • Want to email/schedule a report in PDF format? Just do it!
  • Search Box contains an “X” to clear!
  • Not enough space to see the full report/monitor name in the navigation menu? Resize it!
  • Canvas Data can be filtered by Sub Accounts and/or Terms, you choose! Set this up under Settings + Options > Servers > [Connection] > Canvas Data User Filters or Canvas Data Course Filters.
  • No more “Load Data”! API Data Automatically Updates as you scroll.
  • Total LMS Users in Sync People are arranged in a hierarchy of your Canvas Sub Accounts.
  • Report Updates!
  • Freezing columns in available in reports! You can set it up under Personalize Report > Edit.
  • You can now email and schedule both individual Monitors and Monitor Sets in Canvas!
  • Custom Date Range for Monitors and Monitor Sets now available within LMS and LTI.
  • Exporting is becoming more visual thanks to Export History! It allows you to view files for export before downloading them to your device.

WHAT'S NEW FROM 8/14/2019

  • Need to email your reports directly from your LMS? Now it's available! Canvas LTI now can send emails! Select needed report, click on "Share" button and hit "Email".

WHAT'S NEW FROM 7/31/2019

  • More options for frequency of scheduled reports! "Montly" option allows you select the day of the month when the report will be sent.  "Biweekly" option will send you a notification every 2 weeks.
  • Back button in reports! By clicking on this button, you will return to the previous page that you viewed.
  • LISA begins to offer reports based on your request! Find them in the bottom of your result.
  • Notification History in CEND! Now you can review which notification was sent and when it happened.
  • How often is Canvas data updated? Find the answer HERE.
  • Course filter in monitors! Course Grade Distribution, Enrollment per Course and Quiz Performance monitors now can be filtered by course.

WHAT'S NEW FROM 7/24/2019

  • Want to be sure that an Alternative Name will be applied for your SubAccounts, too? Starting from now if an Admin provides an Alternative Name to a report, that Alternative Name will trickle down to the SubAccount.
  • Monitors reflect two decimal points! Now you can be more confident in your summary data.
  • Permit updation! You can select "All Monitors / No monitors" option to add/remove them for an Organizational Role and/or SubAccount in one time.
  • Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It's a new Course Filter! Courses are now presented in two lists: selected (left gray box) and unselected (right white box). When you select a course to display from the right box, it becomes gray and moves to the left. Click HERE to read more.
  • Quiz Perfomance monitor have a course filter! You can filter learner's quiz success by the course starting from now.

WHAT'S NEW FROM 07/10/2019

  • Now you're able to review reports from your monitor set, because Report Monitor is available for Canvas, too!
  • Have you seen that? Clicking chart pieces in the Performance by Student Status monitor brings you to the User Site Summary Detail report that displays users with selected performance status.
  • Big change in course filter: selected courses turn gray and move to the top of the list; white courses is remaining options. So now you're able to see which courses have beed already selected!
  • Page Views and Time Spent columns in reports are displaing the data for the last 2 academic years now.
  • LISA is available from the Canvas side via LTI!

  • Want to switch languages for your IntelliBoard? Click on a Globe and change language that is better for you!
  • Need to see top 10 courses in your system? Now you can select Top 10, 50 and 100 courses in the filter in Participation at a Glance Monitor.
