LTI Connection: Blackboard Learn LMS

Are you interested in seeing IntelliBoard inside Blackboard Learn? Not a problem, let's create an LTI connection.

Before you get started... 

  • Prior to creating an LTI connection, you must have an IntelliBoard subscription.  Sign up for IntelliBoard here you will need an invitation code, please contact inquiries@intelliboard.net or work with your Blackboard Learn partner. 
  • Prior to creating an LTI connection, you must create a successful connection between your IntelliBoard subscription and your Blackboard Learn system.  Additional information on the connection can be found here

Steps to Create LTI

1) Ensure Blackboard Learn and IntelliBoard Connection 

  • From your IntelliBoard account, ensure you have a successful connection with your Blackboard Learn system.  Additional details about creating the connection can be found here. 
  • From IntelliBoard Next, Go to the top right corner and click My Connections.
  • Similar to the image below, a successful connection will be demonstrated when an Active blue circle is on our connection

2) Get the LTI data from IntelliBoard Next

  • From IntelliBoard Next, Go to the top right corner and click My Connections.
  • Choose the Blackboard Learn Server by clicking on the Name of the server or the 3 dots under Actions, and then click Edit
  • Navigate to Advanced Settings tab and Click LTI Tokens to get the LTI data.

3) Create LTI Connection inside Blackboard Learn: Register Provider Domain 

  • Log in as a Blackboard Learn Administrator  

  • From your main page, click System Admin and then under Integrations select 'LTI Tool Providers'.

  • On the new page, select Register LTI 1.1 Provider.

  • From Register Provider Domain, complete the following details:

    • Provider Domain: next.intelliboard.net 
    • Provider Domain Status: Select Approved
    • Secondary Hostnames:  Leave blank 

    • Default Configuration: Set separately for each link

    • Send User Data: Select Send user data only over SSL 

    • User Fields to Send: Select Role in CourseName and Email Address

    • Allow Membership Service Access: Yes

    • Click Submit

3) Create LTI Connection inside Blackboard Learn: Create Placement 

  • After being redirected to the LTI Tool Providers list, find next.intelliboard.net and Click the Number in the Placement Column

  • On the new page, click Create placement.

  • Complete the following details:
    • Label: IntelliBoard Next LTI (or any text of your choice)
    • Handle: IntelliBoard Next LTI (or any text of your choice)
    • Availability: Yes
    • Type: System tool
  • TOOL PROVIDER INFORMATION: Copy data from Advanced Setting (From Connection IB Next)
  • Click Submit

NOTE: Two role types: "Teacher" and "Student" can use LTI. In order to have access to LTI, user needs to be Synced in IB Next for further information, please click HERE

You will find LTI link listed under Tools, no matter if you are currently using Ultra or Original Blackboard Learn visual experiences
